University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Biological Aspects of Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) (Coleoptera: Silvanidae) and Combating it with Diatom

College of Agriculture / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled Biological Aspects of (Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) (Coleoptera: Silvanidae) and its Combating it with diatomaceous earth compared to some pesticides under laboratory conditions”.
The study, presented by Russel Kareem Majeed Abu Al-Hab, aims at ttesting the effect of some biological factors, which are the use of natural product diatomaceous earth, which is used for first time in Iraq, pesticide Antario KAB for Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria, and biopesticide Oxymetrin at different concentrations on rates of death of complete stages and incomplete stages of the beetle.
The thesis includes a study of the impact of abiotic factors represented by different temperatures (35, 30, 25)°C and their impact on life cycle of Oryzaephilus surinamensis, the period before egg-laying, number of egg-laying, duration of incubation, hatching rate, egg-laying length of larval lifespan. , and virginal role.
