University of Kerbala discussing an M.A. Thesis on Civil Liability of Destroying Electronic Documents

Faculty of Law /University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. Thesis which is entitled (civil responsibility, civil liability arising from destruction of electronic documents: a comparative study). It is presented by Salem Abdel Wahab Shaker.
The aim of the thesis is showing the effects of using computers in light of Internet in programmes and electronics.
The discussion shows that the use of computer in light of Internet has negative effects represented in the acts of destruction and electronic disruption of data and programmes, as it deletes, distorts or disrupts computer data stored in the main or secondary storage devices, or even damages physical parts of the computer.
The researcher concludes that Iraqi legislator did not regulate the liability arising from the destruction of electronic documents with special rules that are compatible with modern requirements, especially that some programmes installed on the computer lead to negative results represented in destroying the data, information and files of the user, the matter does not stop there, rather, it may extend to the malfunction of some physical parts of the computer, such as the disruption of the storage unit or the memory unit and other parts of the computer.
