University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Evaluating inflammatory, Fibrotic Biomarkers and soluble glycoprotein 130 in Male type 2 Diabetic Patients with or without Myocardial Infarction

College of Medicine / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Evaluating inflammatory, fibrotic biomarkers and soluble glycoprotein 130 in Male type 2 Diabetic Patients with or without Myocardial Infarction”.
The study, presented by Maher Adnan Khalaf, aims at Investigating the role of ADAM-17 in development of metabolic tissue diseases in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and myocardial infarction resulting from ischemia, and seeing correlation between the reduction in ADAM-17 inhibitory proteins, and as a result, an increase in its activity in cleaving and releasing many inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin 6, which creates a long-term inflammatory environment.
