Faculty of Veterinary Medicine / University of Kerbala has discussed an M.A thesis which deals with the use of flax seeds as a source of Omega-3 in broiler diets and their impact on productive and histological traits and gene expression.
The study aimed to use flax seeds as a source of unsaturated fatty acids, as well as a substitute for protein and energy in diet of broiler chickens.
The results of the study shows a significant increase in productive, physiological and histological characteristics of birds fed flax seeds. In addition, there is a concentration of omega-3 in poultry meat, which is an unsaturated fatty acid that is important for consumer health.
