College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala, has discussed the M.A. Thesis which is entitled “The Effect of Saffron on Carotenectin, Avamin, and Oxidative Stress in Rats with Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes”.
Being submitted by Al-Hawraa Ali Hussein, the thesis aims at studying preventive and therapeutic role of saffron in reducing damage caused by diabetes. The researcher uses an experimental model on rats that shows distinctive results represented in improved insulin levels, reduced blood sugar, improved indicators of oxidative stress and lipid profile, as well as moderate regeneration in pancreatic beta cells.
