University of Kerbala/ Faculty of Engineering/ Petroleum Department Organizing a Scientific Lecture on the Future of Oil and Gas in Iraq

Department of Petroleum Engineering / Faculty of Engineering University of Kerbala has organized a scientific lecture on the future of oil and gas in Iraq, which is delivered by Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Ahmed.
The lecture includes the reality of Iraqi oil economy, the large quantities of crude oil, and how to benefit from them in developing extractive operations, in addition to benefiting from the funds in investment projects that benefit Iraq.
The lecture aims at introducing programmes that anticipate future oil prices by nourishing them with several economic and political factors, and urging students to complete their studies in rare disciplines such as pipeline engineers, and how to benefit from burnt gas because annually it burns approximately 11% of gas, which is estimated at five billion dollars annually.
The lecturer, Dr. Ahmed, explains how to benefit from the common fields by conducting scientific research studies by facing challenges such as reducing associated gas and developing other reservoirs such as Akkas and Siba, in addition to thinking about building a new port to benefit from exporting larger quantities of crude oil.

The lecture recommends focusing on acquiring skills and learning applied software in field of specialization, as well as acquiring language skills in a way that facilitates their communication with oil companies.
