Faculty of Law / University of Kerbala has held a scientific symposium on the draft law of domestic violence, with the participation of a number of researchers and specialists. It has been presented by Prof. Dr. Diaa Abdullah Al-Asadi.
The symposium aims at explaining the importance of the law and how to benefit from it in addressing negative phenomena in domestic violence according to Penal Code.
These questions have bee n answered during the symposium, successively, with practical examples and judicial applications.
The symposium indicates that the project included many legal provisions are legally established rules and principles, such as the right of discipline sanctioned by Islamic Sharia and approved by the effective Iraqi Penal Code in accordance with certain controls and conditions.
The symposium deals with the most important observations related to legal formulations contained in the draft law, and the substantive provisions that need to be reviewed and reconsidered, such as the definition, scope and image of domestic violence.
