Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences – University of Kerbala has held a Seminar entitled (Great Drought), with participation of a number of specialists and researchers.
The seminar aims at identifying the most important climate changes that lead to droughts in separate parts of the world and devastating effects they left.
The seminar deals with the severe droughts that various countries are exposed to throughout history, past and present.
It shows the economic effects of droughts and the most important measures proposed to reduce its effects.
Dean of the faculty, Dr. Hamida Aidan Salman, says that the seminar discussed the most important ways to reduce the effects of drought and how to reduce wastage of water quantities.
She adds that the faculty is working on discussing the most important problems of society and developing solutions, as well as improving its scientific outputs.
