University of Kerbala Holding a Seminar on Implicit Feedback Information in Recommendation Systems

Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology – University of Kerbala holds a seminar which is entitled “Implicit feedback information in recommendation systems”, with the participation of a number of specialists and researchers. It has been presented by Dr. Mohsen Hassan Hussein.
The lecturer discusses meaning of recommendation systems and their importance in research aspect in addition to the economic aspect, as they help to promote products of all kinds and as a result increase sales and profits. Recommendation systems can be defined as programmes, tools and techniques used for purpose of providing suggestions to users of online shopping sites such as Amazon and sites for watching movies and videos such as YouTube, as well as social networking sites.
The recommendation systems depend primarily on feedback information that is collected from users, and this information is either explicit as customer evaluations of products or is collected implicitly through monitoring the behaviour of users within the sites.
