University of Kerbala Holding its 5th International Conference for Engineering Sciences

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kadhim Abdul-Sahib, and under direct supervision of President of the University of Kerbala, Prof Dr. Basim Khalil Nile Al-Saedi, Faculty of Engineering / University of Kerbala has held its Fifth International Conference (ICES2020) and in cooperation with Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), with the participation of researchers and specialists from various Iraqi and international universities.
The representative of the minister, Prof. Dr. Qahtan Al-Jubouri, President of University of Babylon, says that holding scientific conferences supports raising the level of universities scientifically and academically, call for research paper to be concerned with developing and improving reality in line with the developed world, stressing that the ministry is moving forward in supporting all activities and events related to education and scientific research in this field and their positive impact on community service.
Prof Dr. Basim Khalil Nile Al-Saedi states that scientific conferences are among the most important means of scientific publication, which played a major role in creating the right atmosphere , academic and research meetings. Indicating that the University of Kerbala has obtained the highest positions in the international classifications.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid Al-Qarawi, says that the scientific committee of the conference received more than 88 research papers in various engineering disciplines, and after conducting examination and extraction, 64 papers have been accepted within the engineering disciplines, distributed over five axes, which are the axis of civil engineering and architecture, with 34 papers, the axis of mechanical engineering and materials engineering with 12 research, the axis of electrical engineering and computer engineering 11 research, the axis of biomedical engineering and Prosthetic Engineering (limb and support engineering), with 4 researches, and the petroleum and chemical engineering axis, with 3 researches.
He stressed that Faculty of Engineering, despite the challenges, continues its scientific and service outputs, relying on qualitative performance, and originality in addressing cognitive problems. He adds that the accepted papers will be published in the AIP Publishing House which is classified within Scopus containers.
