University of Kerbala Organizes a Course on Orthodontic Auxiliary Preventive Treatment

College of Dentistry / University of Kerbala has organized a course on orthodontic auxiliary preventive treatment for adults, attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Raouf Rashid Al-Ta’ma, Lect. Athraa Abdel Razzaq, and Asst. Lect. Russel Natiq Turki, in presence of a group of professors and employees.
The course aims at highlighting ways to prevent dental problems during their development in children, in order to avoid appearance of reasons that lead to the use of orthodontics as they age.
The course includes seriousness of some negative conditions in children, such as placing the thumb in the mouth and the frequent use of plastic distractions, which cause distortion in the growth of the teeth and jaw, leading to major effects in adulthood, such as distortion of the smile and jaw, and the incorrect alignment of the teeth.
The course concludes that preventive orthodontic treatment for children is easier and has much better results with less time, effort and cost.
