Women’s Affairs Unit / College of Islamic Sciences / University of Kerbala has organized an electronic symposium on child labour in Iraq, its causes, solutions and how to address it. It is presented by Dr. Alaa’ Abdul Kadhim Jabbar and Dr. Alaa Abdullah Al-Dhahi.
The symposium aims at shedding light on child labour and the concept of childhood from law point of view and explaining implications of child labour in Iraq from a legal and religious point of view.
The symposium recommended the need to tighten the supervisory role of the state, especially the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, over the private sector and commercial shops in Iraq, and to impose penalties on violators of children’s rights.
