University of Kerbala Organizing a Symposium on the importance of Breast Cancer Early Detection

Women’s Empowerment Unit / Faculty of Science / University of Kerbala, in cooperation with Department of Human Resources Development in Holy Shrine, has organized an educational symposium on the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
The symposium aims at raising community awareness about cancer, the importance of quickly dealing with its symptoms, and the necessary measures to reduce it. The symposium has been presented by Dr. Qusay Muhammad Al-Tamimi, a breast oncology consultant, and Dr. Haneen Noman Al-Jilawi, who is responsible for quality and infection control at Sayidah Khadija (peace be upon her) Hospital for Women.
The symposium focuses on the importance of early detection of breast cancer and the most age groups at risk of infection, while the organizers distribute brochures to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of the disease and determining hospitals that provide treatment services specialized in this disease in Karbala.
