The impact of foreign direct investment on the balance of payments- the experiences of selected countries, with special reference to Iraq

The Study dealt with a theoretical review of foreign direct investment, the balance of payments, and the importance of foreign investments in correcting the imbalance that occur in the balance of payments . By reviewing the experiences of the sample countries ( Egypt, Algeria, china ), it was found that there is an impact of foreign investment Direct action on some elements of the balance of payments for each country in the sample, while it was not clear any tangible role of foreign direct investments on the Iraqi balance of payments. I have reached Several Conclusions, which are as follows:-
1-we note through the laws set by the Chinese government in order to attract foreign direct investment flows, which led to an increase in net foreign direct investment flows, and when they increase, they lead to the development of the balance of payments.
2-All sectors have achieved a very large surplus to the Egyptian economy, and thus Egypt was able to achieve great success among the Arab countries, although it does not possess the point resources Some countries have it.
3-The fact that Iraq has positive relation with foreign investment companies during a period of time, especially in the early stages of the emergence of the Iraqi state, and these relations developed and deepened after the discovery of oil in Iraq with the desire of Iraqi governments for foreign companies.
