Iraqi-Kuwaiti Relations after 1991 A study in Geopolotic

Abstract:
The Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations faced many problems that had an impact on the relationship of the two countries, foremost of which was the issue of border demarcation, and the problem of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, which led to eliminate the relations between them, added more problems between the two countries, reinforced the distance and disagreement between them, and contributed directly in raising the tension and hostility between them.
After 2003, the Iraq witnessed many political changes that were reflected on Iraq in particular, and on the countries of the region in general. And in light of these new political changes that Iraq witnessed, a new stage began in the history of Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, during which the two sides emphasized the importance of building New relations based on mutual respect, good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of both countries, in line with the principles of international law, serving the common interests of the two countries, and providing the appropriate atmosphere for establishing the best relations between them.
Following the efforts made by the leaders of the two countries to overcome the differences of the past, whose roots were deepened by the wrong policies of the previous regime, which was actually achieved when Kuwait contributed to removing Iraq from Chapter VII, after Iraq fulfilled all its obligations in this regard. As well as providing support and aid to the Iraqi people. And passed a total of one and a half billion dollars for the reconstruction of the infrastructure in The Madrid Conference of the donor countries, which was held at the end of 2003, in addition to the intensification of the visits of official delegations between them, which had an impact on strengthening the bonds of relations between the two neighboring countries, and restoring the destruction left by the previous era.
The study aims to clarify the nature of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations after the year (1991 AD), by determining the impact of geographical factors (natural and human) on the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, as well as determining the nature of spatial relations by referring to the nature of the land and sea borders, and states the most important problems. The study also aims to identify and clarify the most important regional and international determinants that affect Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, while giving a future vision for the relations of the two countries.
