ABSTRACT
This study deals with: the objective and analytical discussion of the natural and human geographical data, which were mentioned in the book “Nahj al-Balaghah” (the collection of what was reported on the authority of the Commander of the Faithful Ali bin Abi Talib “peace be upon him” in terms of sermons, messages, covenants and judgment), and the extent of their compatibility with modern science, for definition In terms of the scientific and applied aspects of it, and highlighting its importance in scientific and practical life, as well as the sources that formulated the frameworks of intellectual theories and their applied fields, those sources that are represented by the impact of the characteristics of the natural and life environment, and the impact of the Holy Qur’an .
Accordingly, the main problem of the study was represented by asking the following question: (What are the natural and human geographical references contained in the book Nahj al-Balagha of Imam Ali “peace be upon him”, and do they interact with what modern science came with?). As aresult , the study relied on presenting the texts and drawing conclusions, on the standard approach and the analytical approach, based on the inductive method in scientific research, as the texts contained between the two covers of the book “Nahj al-Balaghah” are collected, then sorted and divided according to their geographical indications, and then dealt with with explanation and analysis. According to a geographical perspective, in order to reach the best results.
The study has concluded a set of results, the most important of which are:
1- The dry and harsh desert environment and its manifestations had the greatest part of the terms and geographical indications contained in the book “Nahj al-Balaghah” . Their use of geographical indications inspired by this environment and its manifestations (whether by metaphor or direct description) .
2- The study showed the existence of many geographical references and indications (natural and human) in the book “Nahj al-Balaghah” of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and most of them correspond to what modern science has proved .
3- The geographical terms and indications in the “Holy Qur’an” showed a basic basis for the geographical terms and indications in the book “Nahj al-Balaghah”. The impact of the miraculous Quranic text with its indications, references and contents appears clear in the sermons and sayings of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) .
