The chemical Industries are considered the main pillars that outcomes of many relevant industries depend on for state progress including the agricultural, industrial, health, and architectural fields. However, the chemical industries have great importance in developed and advanced countries and also have a significant role in backing states’ national economy and cultural progress.
It is important since most industries and used as raw materials in many industries that their number increases day after day. Moreover, it has great economic importance due to what production requirements of the industrial sector it provides.
The study mentioned the industrial development of the chemical industries in Iraq in general and in Holy Kerbala Province and the two holy Shrines in specific. Industry in the province witnessed population increase and living level rise, as well, the province obtained great economic and commercial significance due to its religious position and abundance of visitors to Holy Kerbala Province.
The chemical industries properties, types, importance, and classification in the area of the study were studied. The study aims at knowing the chemical industries reality in Holy Kerbala Province of the two holy Shrines and their settlement factors ( the natural factors, human factors, economic factors) that helped their establishment and centralization in the area of the study.
This is in addition to clarifying the problems that the chemical Industries suffer from Holy Kerbala Province of the two holy Shrines represented by production and quality problem, hands shorting problem, shortage of power and fuel problem, environment pollution problem, capital shortage problem, shortage of raw material problem, goods import abroad problem, and transportation and roads problem. Besides, it was knowing the extent of participation of the vocational safety in reducing work injuries and accidents as well improving work performance of the chemical Industries.
There are seven institutions in The chemical Industries ( area of the study) in 2024 distributed on seven administrative units that composed of five districts ( Kerbala center district and Al Ibrahimiyah district that distributed on seven administrative units. All of them belong to the two holy shrines. The total workers were 555, whereas the total invested capital was 16250000000 Iraqi Dinars and cost of machines was 178 00000000 Iraqi Dinars. The area distance was 353000 m2, building area was 34 m2, and costs values were 141714380 Iraqi Dinars.
