We have chosen a personality that is beyond compare in science and knowledge, he is Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani who spent his life in searching, writing, and publishing rarities of Isma’ili books and hand scripts. He devoted his efforts and time to serve science of its demanders where Arabic, Yemeni, and international libraries got benefit from the valuable books, publishing, and verifications.
It was necessary to divide the study into four chapters preceded by introduction and followed by conclusion contained the results that the researcher reached as well a group of appendices and a list of the most important modern references and bibliographies that enriched the study with all required information that the study relied on.
The first chapter was about studying the time of Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadan which has two sections. The first section studied the political and intellectual activation of Hamadani family in Yemen. The second section concentrated on the biography and career of Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani including his name, origin, date of birth, growth, and his family as well his death.
The second chapter which is entitled” the intellectual and scientific outcomes of Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani” has three sections. The first section has two parts. The first part mentioned the published books and researches in Arabic including the most famous ones: ‘ Selaihi and Fatimid movement in Yemen’ book, and ‘ a historical search in Al Sefa brothers messages and Ismai’li faiths in it’ book. The second part discussed his researches in Arabic, it is a research entitled ‘ letters of Sefa brothers’ that Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani delivered in Cairo. In the second section we talked about books, researches, and articles published in English, it has two parts. In the first part, we talked about the book ” The doctrines and history of the Isami’li in Yemen as based on the Da’i Idris Imad u’d-Din’s Kitab Zahr u’l- ma’ani and Other works” which is based on Ph.D dissertation submitted by Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani to College of arts in London University in 1931, in which I stated the histoty of Isma’ili heritage and convention in accord with ” Zahr u’l- ma’ani” by the Da’i Idris al Qereshi ( died 872H./ 1469 A.D.). In the second part, we discussed his researches entitled: ” On the Genealogy of Fatimid Caliphs”, ” The letters of Al- Mustansir bi’llah”, ” The History of Iamai’ili Da’wat and its Literature during the last phase of the Fatimid Empire”, and “The Life and Times of Queen Saiyyida Arawa the Sulayhid of Yemen” and an article entitled ” Some unknown Ismaili and their works” and another article entitled ” Al- Mu’aiyad fil-Din”. The third section which is entitled” the verified books” we mentioned in it his verification to the book “Adornment in the Arabic Islamic words”
The third chapter which is entitled ” methodology of Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani and his sources in authorization has two sections. The first section stated his method in authorization and the most prominent remarks that characterized his method in writing. The second section was about his sources in authorization from which he took his scientific material in authorizing books, researches, and articles.
The fourth chapter which is entitled ” methodology of Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani and his efforts in verification has three sections. The first section states his method in verification. The second section tackled his effort in verification whereas in the second section we explained the verification complementation where we mentioned the most prominent elements that add touching to his work in verifying hand scripts to show it in light after forgetting darkness.
However, the study concluded the following results:
1. Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani descends from a family with Yemeni origin characterized by science and knowledge on Yemen and India level in science and knowledge levels.
2. Despite the hard conditions that faced Ismaili sect in Yemen including doctrine surrounding and intellectual and social chases by the Zaidi Imams that led to displacement of Hamadni family to India hiding in Dawoodi Bohra, Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hemadani contained his learning and lecturing until he obtained master degree in India in 1927 AD. Besides, he worked hard to obtained Ph.D degree from London University in 1931 A.D.
3.Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani is considered the first academic doctor on Gulf and Arab Peninsula level who obtained Ph.D degree from London University in 1931 AD.
4. Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani is considered one of the Ismaili school forerunners that the first pioneers, scholar, and historians established its principles such as Asif Ali Akaber Faidhi ( 1399 H./ 1981 A.D.) and the great scholars Zahid Ali ( died 1376 H./ 1958 A.D.) whose their publications enriched Ismaili library with valuable historical studies.
5. What Prof. Dr. Hussein Faidh Allah Al Hamadani left including publications and classifications and what he skillfully wrote refer to widen science, huge intelligence, and high curiosity beyond compare on the various science and knowledge fields.
