The current research aims to identify the level of social studies teachers’ practice in the middle stage of alternative assessment methods in light of modern trends. It also aims to identify the level of their practice according to the gender variable (males – females), as well as according to the academic qualification variable and the years of service variable. The researcher followed the Descriptive Method in his research. The research population was represented by all the social studies teachers in the intermediate government schools in Karbala Governorate, who numbered (612). The research sample was (275) male and female teachers who were chosen by a random stratified method, and they constitute a percentage of (45%), To collect information and data, the researcher used the tool (questionnaire), all of its psychometric properties were confirmed, as the tool (questionnaire) included (51) items distributed over seven areas, and to extract the final results, the data was analyzed statistically using the social statistical packages program (Spss).
The results of the current research resulted in:
The level of social studies teachers’ practice in the middle stage of methods
Alternative calendar in Karbala Governorate, according to the responses of the members of the research sample, were to a (large) degree. The research also found that there were no statistically significant differences in the responses of the members of the research sample to the questionnaire items (level of practice of alternative calendar methods) due to the gender variable (males – females) , As for the academic qualification variable, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of those with higher degrees. As for the years of service variable, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of those with (5 – 10 years) and (more than 10 years) service at the expense of those with They have service (less than 5 years), and in light of the results reached by the researcher, a set of conclusions, recommendations and proposals were presented, mentioned in the fifth chapter.
