University of Kerbala Discussing a PhD Dissertation entitled Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructures and their Performance in Gas Sensing

College of Science / University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D dissertation which is entitled ” Synthesis of (SnO2/ CuO – rGO) nanostructures and characterization of their performance in gas sensing”.
The study, submitted by En’am Abdul Hamoud, aims at Preparation of nanocomposites (reduced graphene oxide, copper oxide, copper oxide – reduced graphene oxide, copper oxide – graphene oxide / tin oxide) by hydrothermal and pulsed laser deposition methods.
The study includes preparation of several nanocomposites, including copper oxide, reduced graphene oxide, and a bilayer of copper oxide – reduced graphene oxide.
The study also finds out that adding reduced graphene oxide to nanocomposites led to a significant increase in sensitivity of the sensor, especially for hydrogen sulfide gas.
