As part of its efforts to enhance scientific awareness and keeping pace with current economic and environmental issues, College of Administration and Economics – University of Kerbala organizes a scientific symposium on investment opportunities and sustainable development in face of climate change.
It has been attended by a number of researchers and students. Consulting expert, Iraqi Consulting Authority for Reconstruction and Development in London, Dr. Sadiq Hussein Al-Rikabi, also attends the symposium. He addresses the importance of investing in environmentally friendly sectors, the role of sustainable development in reducing effects of climate change, reviewing successful international experiences in this field, as well as clarifying practical aspects of investment in sustainable development.
The symposium highlights the most prominent investment opportunities available in Iraq to confront climate challenges, in addition to emphasize the need to adopt economic strategies that contribute to enhance efficiency of resource use, encourage renewable energy projects, and stimulate private sector to invest in sustainable environmental fields.
