Dr. Safaa Abdul Hadi, head of Geological Survey Division , Ministry of Industry and Minerals, visited laboratories of Applied Geography Department, College of Education for Humanities to review available materials and rocks and conduct scientific studies on them.
The visit aims at building bridges of cooperation between Ministry of Industry and Minerals and University of Kerbala. It also views Geology and Geomorphology Laboratory in Geography Department to identify rocks, their locations, classifications, and names.
Explaining that most of rocks found are sedimentary, the delegation states that some of them date back to Dammam, Dabdaba, and Euphrates formations, while others have not yet been identified.
The delegation recommends that a further visit be conducted to expand scope of laboratory analysis using specific materials that help to identify rocks, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the college and organization to develop studies related to natural resources.
