College of Agriculture University of Kerbala discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “The Effect of Fertilization by Marine Algae and Spraying with Tecamin Max on Growth and Yield of Yellow Corn (Zea mays L.)”
Being submitted by Suroor Khalid Samawi, the study aims at determining Marine Algae concentration that results in the best growth and yield of yellow corn, deciding which Tecamin Max produces highest vegetative growth and highest grain yield, and the effect of interaction between Marine Algae and Tecamin Max, that provides the best indicators for growth and traits studied.
The thesis finds out that Marine Algae show a clear effect in increasing number of grains in the ear. High addition of A3 (12 kg ha-1) displays a clear effect in improving growth and increasing yield. Foliar spraying with Ticamin Max at N3 treatment (3 ml L-1) reflects a clear effect in significant increase of most of traits.
