University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled Determination of Radioactivity Hazards in soil Sample from Rafi’ northwest of Karbala Governorate

Being submitted by Fadhil Mawat Wannan, College of Science _ University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Determination of Radioactivity Hazards in soil Sample from Rafi’ northwest of Karbala Governorate”.
The study examines radioactivity hazards in soil of Rafi’ area, northwest of the governorate.
The thesis focuses on measuring levels of gamma rays and alpha particles, as well as concentrations of radon gas emitted from soil, so as to determine their risk to the environment and human health.
The findings show that concentrations of some radioactive elements, such as uranium, are elevated in a limited number of samples, but remained within internationally permitted limits. The study confirms that radiation hazard levels in area fall within international safety standards.
