A scientific study at the University of Kerbala examines the opportunities for foreign investment in Iraq
The college of Administration and Economics at the University of Kerbala discussed a Master Degree thesis, which is written by Amir Aboud al-Karawi, about the economic representation of foreign direct investment opportunities in Iraq and its role in the development process in the country as well as the means of developing the investment environment for foreign investment in Iraq.
The thesis discussed the financing role of foreign direct investment and its contribution to the process of economic development as well as its direct effects on the host country which includes decreasing unemployment, increasing the development and diversification of economic sectors, aiding the development process, and solving the sectoral problems of the local economy.
The thesis recommended the importance of finding the legislative, economic and security ground to encourage foreign companies to invest in Iraq and to put in place an executive mechanism that will depend on the experiences of the countries that preceded Iraq in this field.
