The Faculty of Administration and Economics at Kerbala University has discussed an M.A. thesis entitled “The Role of Banking Information Technology in Maximizing the Value of the Bank :An Analytical Study of a Sample of Government and Private Banks in the holy city of Kerbala for the period 2019-2020”
The thesis, presented by the student Ali Suleiman Muhammad Al-Hayali, aims at developing banking performance according to the modern administration by relying on advanced technological means to communicate and benefit from the available resources.
The discussion deals with the role of specialists in the banking field, as they represent a qualitative leap in the development of the information and communication technology industry, which is one of the most important technological achievements, as it saves time and distance in banking achievement and the adoption of the digital economy in implementing and facilitating the exchange movement.
The discussion also explains the reason behind the fact that some banks are not aware of the importance of banking information technology and its role in maximizing the value of the bank) through dealing with customers, which is reflected in the inability to use modern methods in financial and administrative transactions by forecasting and meeting their needs and desires.
The researcher concludes that there is a willingness to adopt information technology by the management of private banks, where the efforts of banks are still simple so far.
The researcher also recommends the necessity of building banking strategies based on conducting field studies through relying on information technology and building a broad base for customers and moving to management and communication through technological means, on the management of banks the need to improve the quality of banking services through the use of modern communication devices such as fax and electronic mail as well as the use of Internet networks.
