College of Science / University of Kerbala has discussed the PhD dissertation which is entitled “evaluation of some hormonal and molecular factors in women who suffer from recurrent miscarriage and receive drug dydrogesterone in Karbala Governorate.
The study, presented by Zahraa Jasib Hameed / Department of Biology, aims at evaluating some hormonal and molecular factors in women who suffer from recurrent miscarriage , receive dydrogesterone, and their association with recurrent miscarriage and the effect of this drug on gene expression of progesterone receptors.
The study concludes that high gene expression (mPRα) and low gene expression (mPRß) could be linked to recurrent miscarriage. Changes in gene expression of progesterone receptors indicate that dydrogesterone affects gene expression of these receptors.
The study recommends evaluating expression of progesterone receptors in peripheral blood of recurrent miscarriage patients and comparing it with healthy women could yield valuable insights.
