In collaboration with researchers from College of Pharmacy_Al-Mustansiriya University, Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Ali Sahib, College of Pharmacy _ University of Kerbala, publishes a scientific paper in Molecules journal, issued by Swiss MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute). Molecules is indexed in Scopus and Clarivate databases, Q1, has an impact factor of 4.2, and a CiteScore of 9.1.
The paper, which is entitled is “Design in Silico and Experimental Evaluation of Novel Naproxen-Azetidineone Hybrid as Selective COX-2 Inhibitors” addresses design and synthesis of novel compounds derived from naproxen and zetidineone to develop selective inhibitors of specific enzymes using molecular simulation techniques, molecular dynamics simulation, and studies of binding free energy and pharmacokinetic properties (ADMET).
The results show that designed compounds possess high selectivity and excellent protein stability, making them promising selective for developing novel anti-inflammatory agents with enhanced efficacy and selectivity.
This scientific achievement is a significant contribution and reflects researchers’ outstanding of University of Kerbala and their efforts in publishing high-quality scientific research in international journals.
