University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled “Spatial Variation of Juvenile Crimes in Nasiriyah”

Faculty of Education for Human Sciences – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “spatial variation of juvenile crimes in the city of Nasiriyah, using GIS”. It has been presented by Razzaq Atshan Majeed.
The thesis aims at knowing the extent of juvenile crimes in the city of Nasiriyah, clarifying course of time of their variation during the study period and explaining the demographic characteristics of juvenile criminals and their families.
The discussion shows it is the first study that addresses with juvenile crimes in the city of Nasiriyah using (GIS). It deals with an important category of society, which is the category of juveniles that are the mainstay of society and the future.
The study concludes that the age group of (13-17 years) is the most common age group of juveniles who committed crime of the research areas.
It recommends the need to legislate laws which regulate the family relationship and take care of this segment of society.
