The College of Medicine at Kerbala University discussing the Diploma, Thesis which entitled ” the risk factors for osteoporosis in postmenopausal women in the province of Kerbala – Iraq 2019″
The thesis submitted by the student, Rawa Mahmoud Hassoun, aims at assessing the bone mineral density in postmenopausal women by absorbing double energy X-rays (DEXA scan). It also sheds light on the purpose of exploring the association between mineral density in the lumbar spine and the risk factors examined for osteoporosis
The thesis deals with the spread rate of osteoporosis and the most important steps necessary to spread information about the disease and prevention on a larger scale and the necessity of early detection of the disease, especially among dangerous people like women at menopause which is the time that marks the end of women’s menstrual cycles and patients using corticosteroid.
