Education Discussing with the United Nations Mission the Development of the Educational Process in Iraq

     The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has discussed with the United Nations Mission (UNAMI) in Iraq the development of a horizon of cooperation between the two sides so as to enhance the position of Iraqi universities among their counterparts in the countries of the region and the world.

     During his meeting with the representative of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Mrs. Suzanne Collis,  The General Director of the Studies, Planning and Follow-up Department, Dr. Ehab Naji Abbas, emphasizes the readiness of the Ministry of Higher Education to implement cooperative programs with the Mission in order to improve the education and human rights sector and strengthen the mechanisms of this culture among students through the implementation  seminars and cooperative programs.

    The Director General adds that the Ministry is making strenuous efforts to ensure that students have the right to education and to provide the appropriate academic environment to receive education and help them return to school.

     On the other hand, the representative of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Mrs. Suzanne Collis, stresses the importance of taking into account the Iraqi government institutions and the Ministry of Higher Education the humanitarian conditions of students, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances in which universities in some governorates pass.
