The Faculty of Administration and Economics/Kerbala University has discussed the MA. thesis entitled “Evaluation of Iraq commercial policies in light of the transition to a Market Economy after 2003.”
The thesis, submitted by the student Shaima Shaker Abdullah Hussein Al-Saadi, aims at showing the direct effects of that policy on the economic sectors in general and trying to find out ways to move towards revitalizing the private sector so as not to rely entirely on oil exports.
It also deals with the importance of commercial policy as being one of the means of achieving economic development.
The thesis ends up with the conclusions which states that commercial policy in the Iraqi economy is considered unilateral, as it relied on oil as a basic goods for export, and that is accompanied by great risks as a result of the instability of oil prices globally.
