President of University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile, participates in ceremony honoring “exemplary female student in Iraqi universities,” which has been organized by Women’s Media Division of General Secretariat of Holy Imam Hussein Shrine, in presence of university presidents, college deans, and religious figures.
The president calls for female students to imitate Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (peace be upon her), who is an example of chastity.
Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile explains that hijab does not restrict women’s freedom and is not a reason for their backwardness, lack of success, and isolation from the world, as some claimants claim, because Islam is the only religion that came to liberate women from slavery and inferiority and wanted them to be a role model in behaviour, academic excellence, and other outstanding qualities.
The President expresses his support for such initiatives that contribute to build women’s personalities, since it is the nucleus of building family and society. He also appreciates parents’ efforts and holy shrine of Hussein for their keenness to establish humanity and society.
This competition is one of educational and moral initiatives organized by General Secretariat of Holy Shrine of Hussein. It aims at encouraging female students to be modest on campus.
The ceremony ends up with honoring President of University of Kerbala and a group of professors, women and students,
large numbers of female Iraqi university students participate in the ceremony, which is organized by holy Husseini Shrine, and attended by a group of professors, presidents, deans of universities.
