the Minister of Higher Education Revealing the Publication of nearly forty thousand Iraqi research in Global Containers
Iraqi universities data has recorded a significant progress on the level of research published in the approved journals and conferences in the Scopes database, reaching nearly forty thousand research during the past ten years.
The Department of Research and Development, through its director, Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, states that 838 researches have made their way for publication in 2010 and their numbers increased annually in close proportions until they achieved a remarkable rise in 2019, as the published researches in this year alone reached 13227 with a percentage of 84.14%, to be a total Research published over the past ten years 38987 research.
He continues saying that these data, although they have proven an increase in the numbers of researches, have indicated a significant presence and improvement in the quality and sobriety of the journals in which the research was published, noting that the data has revealed that 41.6% of the researches are published in journals that classified within the first and second quarters of the series of journals, according to specializations which prove the steady scientific improvement of Iraqi researchers and their active contribution to scientific research, stressing that these positive results helped enter Iraqi universities in the global rankings.
He stresses that the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and universities are continuing to implement plans and projects for developing scientific research in Iraq and work to increase the numbers of Iraqi journals and conferences approved in the Scopes database.
