Under the auspices of the President of Kerbala University, Prof. Dr. Basim Khalil Al-Saedi, and the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Wefak Jebouri Al-Bazi, and according to the directives of the Ministry and within the scientific activity of the Faculty, an electronic workshop has been held entitled ((isolation, characterization and genotyping of the influenza virus in birds)) which is delivered by Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Kazim Hussain and Lect. Nameer Ibrahim Muhammad on the (FCC) platform.
The workshop aims at explaining ways of isolation, characterization and diagnosing the virus, as well as its genotyping, so as to know the virulence factors that the virus possesses.
The workshop has covered the most important clinical signs and macroscopic lesions of the virus. It shows that this type of virus is important and its viruses vary from strain to strain and from animal to animal of different ages that this virus infects.
It also deals with the possibility of producing an effective vaccine if it was a weakened or killed neighborhood and gives complete immunity and by relying on methods of prevention and control of this disease.
The workshop recommends isolating and characterizing the local viral strains that cause infection, establishing a sophisticated laboratory for producing vaccines from the local strains, and providing material, moral and support to university professors and researchers to follow up on this and other diseases.
