Faculty of Education for Human Sciences – University of Kerbala has discussed the Ph.D. dissertation entitled (Lexicon in Generative School – Concept and Function). It is presented by Yousra Majid Lafta.
The study aims at monitoring the theoretical transformations that generative grammar theory has known since its inception to the last model in it, which is the model known as the lower program, and identifying the factors of transition and its causes and manifestations of transgression or containment from one model to another.
The dissertation relies on analytical descriptive approach, which depends on the description of the phenomenon under study which is the generative theory through Chomsky’s books, research and thesis that analyzed and classified this description.
The study shows that the general view is still with the ancients and moderns regarding the word “lexicon” as it is a list of vocabulary written in a specialized book.
