University of Kerbala Discussing a Ph. D. Dissertation on enhancing Performance of Manufactured Solar Cell

Faculty of Science – University of Kerbala has discussed a study on enhancing performance of a solar cell manufactured from nanostructures.
The Ph. D. dissertation is entitled “Preparation and Performance of Zno-CNT/ TiO2 Nanostructures AS Dye- Slenderized Solar Cells”. It is prepared by Ammar Salah Abu Ragheef.
The study concludes that the growth of zinc oxide nanorods on top of titanium dioxide nanorods raises the efficiency about 20%.
It is also found that the addition of carbon nanotubes in connecting layer between the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide rods increased the efficiency about 10%.
The study recommends using natural pigments in order to reduce production costs and integrating different pigments in order to optimize the use of the solar spectrum and increase efficiency.
