Being submitted by Ahmed Abdul Ameer Al-Baaj, College of Law, University of Kerbala, has discussed the PhD dissertation which is entitled ” International Regulation of Sustainable Agricultural Development”.
The study aims at identifying international mechanisms adopted by international law to achieve sustainable agricultural development, their nature, and their effectiveness. It also determines states’ obligations regarding legal nature of sustainable agricultural development and international bodies responsible for achieving it.
The study finds out that not all issues related to sustainable agricultural development are regulated by international agreements. International agreements have focused mostly on transboundary issues such as climate change, water, and desertification.
