Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering has disused the M.A. thesis which is entitled” Effect of Using different Configurations and fill ration on Thermal Characteristics of a Heat Pipe”. It is prepared by Zaher Abbas Rahim.
The objective of the thesis is constructing a test platform for heat pipes, experimentally investigating the effect of operating conditions and design parameters on the performance of the proposed heat pipe, and performing experimental measurements analysis to obtain the parameters that describe the thermal performance of the heat pipe.
The thesis concludes that total thermal resistance of the heat pipe decreases with increasing input force for all filling ratios and tilt angles, in contrast, total thermal resistance varies positively with the cooling water flow rate and thermal resistance of heat pipes inclined at an angle of 60 degrees is less than the resistance of heat pipes in horizontal condition, and effective thermal conductivity at this angle is higher than in horizontal case.
