University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled ” Relationship some Biomarkers ( adiponectin leptin, and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) with Occurrence Atherosclerosis in Obese and Non-obese Individuals in Karbala Governorate”

University of Kerbala/ Faculty of Applied Medical Science has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled Relationship some Biomarkers ( adiponectin leptin, and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) with Occurrence Atherosclerosis in Obese and Non-obese Individuals in Karbala Governorate”
The thesis, submitted by Rafal Halim Nomas, aims at evaluating level of biomarkers (Adiponectin, Leptin, PAI-1) of healthy people and those with atherosclerosis with normal and high body mass index (BMI) and then comparing them.
The thesis concludes that there is a relationship between Adiponectin derived from adipose tissue, adiponectin, leptin, and PAI-1 in development of atherosclerosis in patients suffering from obesity. The results indicates an increase in concentration of MDA, indicating that rate of oxidative stress is high, in addition to a decrease in concentration of T -AOC in a sample of people suffering from obesity and leads to a decrease in antioxidants.
The thesis recommends studying relationship of factors in occurrence of atherosclerosis in obese and non-obese women and comparing the study criteria between male and female atherosclerosis patients, as well as studying factors of atherosclerosis in diabetes and finding relationship between them, using adiponectin leptin, PAI-1 as alert indicators in individuals who suffer from obesity.
