University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A. Thesis entitled ” Solar Energy Harvesting Utilizing Thermoelectric (PV – TE) – Integrated Hybrid System”

Faculty of Engineering – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis, which is entitled “Solar Energy Harvesting Utilizing Thermoelectric (PV – TE) – Integrated Hybrid System “.
The thesis, presented by Walaa Nasser Abbas, includes developing the efficiency of solar cells by using a hybrid system that uses the heat of surplus solar cells to generate electrical energy from thermoelectric cells in a second stage.
The thesis aims at showing that hybrid system helps to increase the electrical capacity generated and lifetime of solar cell because it helps to maintain the temperature of solar cells, which increases their efficiency.
The thesis concludes that thermoelectric cell technology can generate electrical energy if a temperature difference is applied to it according to Seebeck effect principle.
