University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on A Geographical Analysis of Drug Crime

Faculty of Education for Human Sciences – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “A Geographical Analysis of Drug Crime in Babylon Using GIS Technology”. It has been presented by Amjad Jassim Talib.
The thesis aims at creating a database in geographic information systems (GIS) to study drug crime in Babylon, and knowing the rates of drug crimes in the province and its time path. It also identifies the spatial distribution of the phenomenon of drug crime.
The study deals with the variation in rate of drug crimes in Babylon, the most important factors that lead to their commission, the reflected effects, and the characteristics of the perpetrators of crimes, according to descriptive analytical approach. Studying the phenomenon and analyzing its data and its spatial distribution are the common goals of this study, since it talks about a vital issue that affects society.
