University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Identification of some Biochemical and Immunological Indicators

Faculty of Science / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “identification of some biochemical and immunological indicators and their relationship to some types of bacteria associated with kidney failure.

The study, presented by Khawla Abbas Hadi, aims at diagnosing dominant bacterial type and determining relationship between high level of one of the immune receptors and levels of some antioxidants in patients’ blood with kidney failure.
The study finds out that E.coli bacteria predominated and incidence of kidney failure is high, and that the concentration of Toll-like immune receptor (TLR4) could be used as an indicator to detect the presence of the bacteria.
The thesis recommends expanding molecular characterization of virulence factors of E.coli bacteria and investigating the role of staphylococcus saprophytes in kidney failure.
