University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A. Thesis on Prevention of Viral Hepatitis Infection

Faculty of Nursing, University of Kerbala has discussed “Effect of an Educational Programme on Nursing Staff Knowledge and Attitude towards Prevention of Viral Hepatitis B infection in Karbala Center for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery”. It is presented by Adel Muhammad Jiyad.
The thesis aims at preparing educational programmes to improve the nursing staff’s knowledge and attitude about hepatitis B virus prevention that will contribute to reduce risks of infection.
The study includes the use of a quasi-experimental design for two groups to determine the effect of an educational programme on knowledge and attitude of nursing staff towards the prevention of hepatitis B infection during the period from 1 November, 2021 to 16 June, 2022.
The study concludes that there is a low level of knowledge and attitudes toward prevention of hepatitis B infection in pretest in both groups. The study recommends making more efforts to prepare appropriate educational programmes to improve and update knowledge.
