University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Phenotypic and Molecular Diagnosis of Aspergillus spp fungi Isolated from the Air

College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Kerbala has discussed an M.A thesis which is entitled (Phenotypic and molecular diagnosis of Aspergillus spp fungi isolated from the air in specific areas between Two Shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas in Karbala Governorate). It is presented by Muhammad Hakam Atwan.
The thesis aims at identifying rates of spread and pollution of atmospheric air in the area between Two Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas in Karbala Governorate with types of Aspergillus fungus and diagnoses it at phenotypic and molecular levels. It also determines species of pathogens cause disease in humans in data under study.
The thesis includes working on collecting samples from the air using a steel sampling device (Air Simpler System) in Karbala Governorate in specific areas between Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas, which included an open area and a covered area, as well as diagnosing fungal species phenotypically using traditional methods and molecularly using PCR technology.
The thesis emphasizes conducting a comprehensive study of all types of fungi isolated from the same area and using a sampling device for its efficiency and accuracy in identifying fungal contaminants, which is very important in early stages to avoid their health risks, and finding appropriate solutions to avoid spread of fungi in cooperation with relevant authorities.
