University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on Removal of some Metal Ions by polysiloxane_ Immobilized Polydonor Ligands System

College of Science / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled ” Removal of some Metal Ions by polysiloxane_ Immobilized Polydonor Ligands System “.
The study, which is presented by Ayyam Tariq Abdel Kadhi / Department of Chemistry, aims at preparing porous materials derived from rice husks with nanoscale magnetic iron, diagnose them using physical techniques, and use them to remove a number of ionic pollutants in aqueous solutions.
The study concludes that porous materials are good at removing contaminated materials, and percentage of removal increases with presence of nanoscale magnetic iron on the porous materials.
The study recommends that it is possible to use other sources of amorphous silica and employ them with different organic groups , use them to remove pollutants, and study the effect of using the same materials, porous materials, with other pollutants such as dyes.
