University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on the Effect of SLC5A2 Polymorphism on Response of Diabetic Patients to Empagliflozin Treatment

College of Pharmacy / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled ” the effect of SLC5A2 polymorphism on response to empagliflozin treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes”.
The thesis, submitted by Beneen Hadi Saeed, aims at studying the effect of genetic variations in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) on their response to empagliflozin treatment.
The study finds out that type 2 diabetes is a genetically heterogeneous and complex disease that specializes in high blood sugar levels, and that differences in phenotype of T2DM patients are due to genetic variation, changes in lifestyle, and other environmental factors. The study also concludes that there are differences significant glycemic indices and body mass indices are significant among study groups.
