University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis on the Role of Electronic Payment Methods in Developing Foreign Trade

College of Administration and Economics / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “The role of electronic payment methods in developing foreign trade: Experiences of selected countries with reference to Iraq” by Muhammad Abbas Jaber Salman.
The study aims at identifying the importance and stages of development of electronic payment methods and advantages and risks that accompany the use of these methods.
The study addresses contributions of development of electronic payment methods in facilitating commercial transactions locally and globally, especially after development of electronic commerce and lifting of restrictions on it in many countries, and that electronic payment methods achieve high speed in exchange and settlement of transactions and commercial exchange, as they reduce effort and time, and then this will be reflected positively on prosperity of trade and the activation of movement of exchange with the outside world.
The study recommends providing facilities and incentives to users of national electronic payment methods, and stressed that Central Bank and concerned authorities should hold awareness seminars, which should be mandatory if necessary, because many people are ignorant of how to use modern payment methods. Therefore, it is heard about piracy, fraud and deception, victims of which are ordinary people, and activating and intensifying regulatory authorities in field of electronic technologies by paying attention to confidentiality of their financial information when concluding a commercial deal to conduct any commercial exchange process.
