Faculty of Law /University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled “The Role of Poisons as Proof in Criminal Case – A Comparative Study -“. It is submitted by Bushra Majeed Ahmed.
The study aims at showing legal effects in criminal case due to damage of poisons on society.
The study shows that the spread of toxins is one of the most serious problems facing society, which threatens all its groups alike, and in all health and social aspects.
It deals with the effect on the body according to type of poisons used, whether chemical or vegetable, and even medicines, as one of criminal means used in committing their crimes.
The researcher states a number of results and recommendations, the most important of which is that Iraqi legislator does not put a specific definition of poisons in Iraqi Penal Code, only referring to the fact that toxic substance is a circumstance that requires severe punishment.
