Faculty of Administration and Economics / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis on application of ISO standard (15189) of medical laboratories using total quality management – a case study to diagnose reality of medical laboratories affiliated with Najaf Health Directorate.
The study, presented by Ammar Muhammad Hussein Al-Saffar, aims at diagnosing reality of comprehensive quality management of medical laboratories of the Najaf Health Department. To determine the gap between reality of current medical laboratory work and the comprehensive quality management system, the study sample includes both “Public Health Department” laboratory and “Najaf Teaching Hospital Laboratory” (German).
The study finds out that there is a cognitive dispersion between normal quality of work and comprehensive quality management system in applying standard (ISO:15189:2012), while it recommends defining nature of comprehensive quality management as an integrated system for managing the medical laboratories investigated, and spreading the thought and culture of distinguishing between concept of work quality and thought of Quality management systems and motivation to adopt this philosophy in management of medical laboratories.
